I recolored this dresser for Trapping for my Secret Santa present for her. But while I'm all for sedate colors, sometimes I like some color.

Kaya Littlebird is a member of the Hopi tribe. She has many characteristics indicative of her people: a wide face without pronounced cheekbones, deep-set eyes with a nearly monolid, a nose that does not protrude very far but carries a distinctive flair, and frank, straight brows. Kaya means "elder sister" in Hopi; I am hoping to share her brother Jack soon.

A special thank you to Jessthex whose skins [What Nature Gave Me] are so inspiring and so beautiful.

This is one of those little pieces of CC I absolutely love and yet, how often do I need it? Soooo rarely. But I need more colors! Yes! Then I'll use it all the time! >_>

This is the easiest hair I've done in a while! This hair is super cute from most angles but looks pear-shaped (literally, not euphemistically) from the back... Warning: Really big preview under the cut O_O

I have a special thanks on this hair. Pinketamine thank you SO MUCH for doing all the coloring and binning of these hairs! You are awesome. I don't know how long they would have sat if you had not lent a hand!

I'm pretty proud of this hair. I love how the bangs came out and I'm especially chuffed about the back. Hope you like it too ; D  Warning: Really big preview after the cut O_O

Over in Desperately Seeking kpaja was looking for a mini door - half or 3/4 height. Because she said it didn't  have to be functional I immediately seized on the idea of a canvas painting that you just shift to the ground. Here's the result!

Peggy "310"

Peggy has the most jacked-up numbering system ever. This hair is probably the worst I've ever seen. The mesh is numbered 0013, the Peggy site calls it 0229, the Peggy picture calls it 0029, and the booty made (I think) a typo and calls it 00310. Holy shitballs, yo.

ANYWAY. I've decided to call this Peggy310 as I believe most people will check the Booty first and I want them to find it there. However, this file includes a tiny Read Me just to explain the above.

This hair is all ages. It does get a bit eaten by the shoulder with toddlers and children, but because of the texture and poofiness it's not too noticeable.

This re-texture is a real Frankenstein. The smooth hair is Pooklet v3, The afro puff is Nymphy's curls, and the braids are Peggy's original. I really tried to re-do the braid in v3. But nothing looked as good as the original. The braid has had quite a bit of leveling, burning, and dodging to be more realistic.

Over at GoS I ever so subtly hinted I was looking for some old hairs to re-texture. Jane was kind enough to shoot me some ideas. Here's the first of her list. Thanks Jane! <3

Both hairs are toddler to elder!

I'm grading the finals on poetry and poetry vocab today (yesterday was the last day of the semester).

I just have to show you one answer a kid gave me. It shows real imagination!

They were to be analyzing the poem "Stopping by Woods..." by Robert Frost.

The final lines of which are:

And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

The question was "How does the meter reinforce the meaning of the poem?"

The student correctly identified that meter as 8, then answered the question this way:

"If you turn an 8 sideways then it becomes infinity, which shows how many miles he has to go before he sleeps."

No credit, but very creative!

I Am A: True Neutral Elf Sorcerer (4th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-11

Dexterity-12

Constitution-11

Intelligence-14

Wisdom-16

Charisma-14

Alignment:
True Neutral A true neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. He doesn't feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most true neutral characters exhibit a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil after all, he would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, he's not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some true neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. True neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion. However, true neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.

Race:
Elves are known for their poetry, song, and magical arts, but when danger threatens they show great skill with weapons and strategy. Elves can live to be over 700 years old and, by human standards, are slow to make friends and enemies, and even slower to forget them. Elves are slim and stand 4.5 to 5.5 feet tall. They have no facial or body hair, prefer comfortable clothes, and possess unearthly grace. Many others races find them hauntingly beautiful.

Class:
Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.

If you game (video, tabletop, mmorpg, etc.), you gotta watch this. If you know someone who does, you gotta watch this. And most importantly, if a loved one is a gamer, you gotta watch this.

You know those totally evil prize machines at the arcade? You know what I'm talking about, with the little arms that are too weak to grab anything at all and the big fat, smooth, heavy prizes they are meant to pick up?

Check out this lady...

Question for anyone familiar with journalfen (especially [personal profile] kantayra because I know I've seen you snarking about on fandom_wank before)

I really love fandom_wank, and want to join wank_report. But in order to do that I have to have a journalfen account. But when I go to the create link it's a 404. Anyone know the deal? Is it temporarily down, are they not allowing new accounts, etc?

I hope my whole f-list has a very Happy Christmas (Happy because I'm seekritly snooty and British) and gets what they very most hoped for.

Me and the Mr. were supposed to be in San Diego on Thursday night. Instead we are stuck here in the aftermath of the biggest blizzard since, if the rambly woman down the street is any expert, 1982. The snow started Wednesday, I barely made it home and the car was stuck halfway up the driveway. The Mr. barely made it into the neighborhood and got his car totally stuck in a snow drift and had to hike over to the house.

We were not able to dig ourselves out enough to pull my car forward until Friday, and the other car was not freed until Saturday. We were able to leave the house for the first time on Saturday. We went out to eat LOL. There was no way I was cooking again :P

Thankfully, we were able to reschedule our flight because DIA was shut down and all flights cancelled for 45 hours. So we will be going to SD for New Year's. Which I am very happy about, because I really, really miss my family. I was extremely depressed when I thought we'd have to cancel altogether.
