AlfredAskew was talking about her frustration with a lack of medium lots (in terms of Sim capacity) - not starter, but not manses either.
This house came from that conversation. Although it's not exactly what AA meant, this was my first experiment. Also, this is my first ever lot upload. I'm VERY sorry for the quality of some of the pics. I have fought with both Fraps and Gadwin since moving to Windows 7 and neither is working for me thus far.
The lot is size 1x2 - I failed to note that on the preview.

As I said before, the goal here was to play without having to swing the camera to and fro. Here's the suggested camera angle:

You'll see that walls are completely down. If you play with semi-walls, the only spot that will give you trouble is where the stairs are. Otherwise, it will remain open and playable.
First Floor Plan - please note the new wall location. I was unable to take clear pics of the new space, but it has really not changed that much
Second Floor Plan
I have also uploaded this house furnished in all Maxis materials. The claim of sleeping 8 is possible by using some of the many bunk bed options. Instead of a dresser, two more beds would go against that wall. No loss of playability should be experienced with bunk beds.
