Veronica Mars S3 Spec
May. 10th, 2006 09:35 amOk! I'm going for it! Season 3 Speculation under the cut (Keith-centric)
I firmly believe that Keith's arc this season will show him becoming far too interested in the rewards that come from investigation jobs. So interested, that, believeing he's actually doing the very best thing for Veronica, he begins to neglect her and their relationship.
Reasons or supports for this?
- EC can sell me almost anything. But he didn't even begin to sell me the speech at the beginning. "We are people with lives..." Now, it might have been partly the way it was written, but I think there was some real deliberateness there that goes beyond the fact that Keith was trying not to be obsessed with Aaron's trial himself.
- Then V comes in with the reward announcment (btw, did the Mannings child abuse thing drop off the radar or what?!) and Keith is seemingly not interested. Then we are supposed to believe that he was convinced to do it with Vinnie's help. I'm not really buying it. Keith doesn't respect Vinnie, doesn't like Vinnie - I think he wsa just looking for an excuse to go after Woody.
- What's in the briefcase? What is so important that Keith would leave her standing at the gate? From the expresion on Keith's face when Kendall opened the case - it was money. That half-smile, eyebrows raised face is all about money.
I'm thinking that, beginning with this trip and at other, progressively more worrisome times during the season, Keith will not have his priorities reall straight. He may say it's all for Veronica, but it will really about financial reward.
