I really fragging tired of the situation with Buffy_Icons. I really want to be a member of that community. I'd like to be able to contribute icons. But the lag is INCREDIBLE. I asked to be added as a member 3 months ago!!! And then, I applied again about two weeks ago. *shrug* I dunno. Kinda bums me out. Especially when I see some of the iconmakers that are contributing, and I think to myself, "I'm at least as good as that!"

It's one thing to be making icons for yourself and to enjoy them. But at 275-some icons, I'd really like to share them and know they're going to some use :P

roniabirk, if you see this, lemme know how long it took for you to get okayed...

It took a while. I think at least 2 months because I know I sent 2-3 emails about it too. One day out of the blue I got the community invite. *shrug*

I hope you don't think that what I am bothered by is that you got okayed and I haven't. that couldn't be farther from the truth. Besides, you're way better than I am :D

Nahh, I'm not really pissed. Just more annoyed. But, OTOH, I've started on another songset. So I can't feel _that_ defeated ;)

Oh no, I don't think that. It may take a while, but I don't feel like belonging there has really helped spread my icons around to other people. Hopefully that will happen over time because I'd like to see others use them too.

And you rock at the iconing, so don't even say I am better. :p

That's just wrong... I mean, your icon creations are my most persuasive case to go with a paid LJ account so I can use more of them. (moan)

On a related note - I check your site sometimes to look for new icons, and I've run into occasions where the "art" page won't load all the way or kicks me off because of "exceeded allocated data transfer." Looks like your creative output has maxed out the bandwidth, at least for a single page all at once.... but it's annoying, because now I can't even look at your new stuff! Argh!

Believe me, I'm trying hard to get to a new site. The problem is that their are so many images that one person an hour basically can look at the page before it crashes out. But don't worry, you haven't missed anything new (which, btw, i'm super flattered that you check) I got so pissed off that I'm not updating it until I figure out new hosting.

I (and the boyfriend) own a domain, but we still need to get web hosting. Hopefully that will be soon. I have about 100 icons that are not on the site.

Who's your ISP? I thought that most accounts would include some web space. 100x100 pixel icons don't take that much space. I get 10MB free with my account. Which is damn near nothing these days, of course.

Web hosting can cost anywhere from $10 to (lots more) per month, depending on your needs.

I have Comcast, it's a cable ISP. I have 15 MB through geocities. I suppose I could check it out and just store all the pictures at comcast... but OTOH, if I really wanted to, I could just hotlink all my icons from PhotoBucket.

*sigh* It really need not be so complicated. :P I just wanna show pretty pictures! ;D

I've seen some people get people who are members to post on the community and link to their journal to see the icons so that your icons get out there.

If you want someone to do that for you, I'd be willing. I know it must be frustrating.

I was going to *squeeeee* when I read your post, but when I read your recent posts, my *squee* deflated like a cheap tire. Damn, that guy totally doesn't get your point at all.

So, when everything has calmed down a bit, and you have a moment, that would be totally awesome. I was thinking about doing a post to my LJ with some of my favorites I've ever done, so this is a great opportunity. Thanks! I really appreciate your generosity :D
